1. Open with the finished result

Show the thing your viewer came to make or change. Replace a broad feature tour with a specific promise: “Turn on weekly summaries for this workspace.” Name the required account, permission, or file before the first step.

Keep unrelated setup in another video or a linked guide. Give this tutorial one clear job.

2. Record the whole path in clean sections

Prepare the starting screen and sample data before recording. Check your microphone and any app sound, then explain each action as you take it. Keep the navigation a new viewer needs, even when it feels familiar to you.

If a take goes wrong, restart from a complete sentence or step. A clean boundary is easier to trim than a correction halfway through an instruction.

3. Let the edit make details obvious

Review automatic zooms around small controls and adjust the hold to match your explanation. Use a short callout for a choice that matters. Keep the webcam and captions away from the interface you are demonstrating.

Correct app names, numbers, and commands in captions. Choose framing and a background that feel consistent with your channel.

4. Follow your own video before uploading

Export the tutorial and repeat the task from the beginning. Can you find every control and tell when the task worked? Watch at a smaller size to catch text that looked clear in the editor but disappears on a phone.

End with the visible result and one next action. Save the editable project and note the app version so a future update is easier to locate. Explore the full YouTube workflow.
